Visitor Statistics: 116,000 visitors with 28% from outside Germany. The top five nations outside Germany include The Netherlands, Italy, Belgium/ Luxembourg, Great Britain and Austria. 55% of visitors were primarily interested in technical lighting,lamps and components; 50% interested in electrical engineering; and 40% in house and building-automation products and decorative lightings. |

Show Overview: Originated from former Hannover World Light Show, Light + Building Frankfurt has become the most powerful lighting trade show in the world. Since 2000, this biennial event has speedy consolidated its position as a specialist international trade fair for technology and trends. It brings together in one event all the fields pertaining to building design, namely lighting, electro-technology as well as house and building automation. The inclusion of "architecture relevant systems" completes the picture.
At Light + Building, the emphasis is on sector-based innovation, trends and knowledge exchange, reflecting cutting edge technology. Light makes up the largest exhibition area at Light + Building. On show at Light + Building are the latest trends. Capture the imagination of attendees with living space lighting for every need and taste, from modern design to styles that are classically-modern or traditionally classic. It offers a snapshot of the whole product spectrum ¨C technical lighting and lights as well as decorative luminaires, 2006 for the first time clearly organised into products for the home and buildings.
The most leading companies in the field made their presentations on an area of around 110,000 square meters (net) in Frankfurt Fairground, including the industrial giants such as Philips, Osram, GE and Thorn. An increase of around 6% over the previous event and resulted in a high degree of satisfaction among the 1,926 exhibitors from 53 countries while 81% of them achieve the goal of the fair. The exhibitors were extremely pleased with the increased decision-making authority of visitors and the larger number of visitors from outside Germany. |
