Show Overview: Established since 2000, Hong Kong International Lighting Fair has developed into the second largest lighting fair worldwide and the largest lighting fair in Asia. The 2006 fair was a resounding success, attracting a total of 1,217 exhibitors - an over 17% increase from the 1,035 exhibitors who attended in 2005. Visitor numbers rose by 21%, with a total of 25,045 buyers coming to witness the fair's many attractions. Of these visitors, 15,979 came from outside Hong Kong, with thousands of buyers flocking from the key markets of the Chinese mainland, the US, Taiwan, Japan and the United Kingdom.
The fair offers visitors the opportunity to source all kinds of lighting products, ranging from lighting applications to lighting products and systems. A welcome new feature at the 2005 fair was the Outdoor Lighting Section, which showcased street lamps, garden lighting and other outdoor illuminations from nearly 30 exhibitors.Hong Kong offers a great place to do business, in terms of excellent business and legal infrastructure, and the flexibility of its suppliers.
While still preserving its traditional OEM orders, Hong Kong's lighting manufacturers have shown their world-famous adaptability by moving towards ODM business. Some also promote products with their own brand name or trademark. This response to market trends has proven to be a big hit with buyers looking for items that appeal to both quality and price-conscious customers in a timely manner.
The Hong Kong Trade Development Council has built up a wealth of contacts and marketing resources, which it uses to encourage buyers world-wide to visit the fair. Its trade exhibitions are internationally recognised as distinctive platforms where both exhibitors and buyers converge to explore business opportunities. |
